Artist & End of Life Doula

Kate Muehlemann Cataldo is an Artist and End of Life Doula for those experiencing serious illness and end of life.  In her 20-year career as a nurse she worked in various settings from Intensive Care Unit to Home Hospice. After a car accident in 2010, Kate experienced the healthcare system from a patient's perspective, dealing with with years of disability, chronic pain, and fatigue. Witnessing disparities in healthcare work and personal experience inform her interest in care models outside of the healthcare system such as doula support, herbalism, and community care.
Kate’s work is rooted in advocacy for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and their support systems in chronic illness  through end of life in a way that honors identity and personhood.

  • Ten years of experience as a Hospice RN and Educator

  • Ongoing apprenticeship in herbalism with Gaia School of Healing

  • Experienced breath work, meditation, and guided relaxation facilitator
